During the meeting, Sara Elder, head of Employment Analysis & Economic Policies at the International Labour Organization (ILO), presented the "2024 Global Youth Employment Trends" report. The report emphasizes the need for targeted investments in youth employment, particularly for young women. It highlights the urgent requirement for mechanisms that support young people's transition into the labor market, address global inequalities, and enhance social protection.

Elder stressed that, given the significant challenges posed by youth unemployment worldwide, these mechanisms are crucial for fostering a more equitable and inclusive labor environment.

Key discussions during the roundtable included enhancing employment opportunities for women and youth in the digital economy, promoting entrepreneurial skills, and supporting sustainable industry growth. Dong Kui highlighted the significant role of the digital economy in expanding employment opportunities for women. She also introduced successful initiatives launched in China, such as the "AI Idol," which has established 11 incubation spaces in underdeveloped provinces, generating substantial employment and income opportunities for 1,424 residents since 2019.

This roundtable brought together government officials, diplomats, scholars, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and representatives from international organizations, including the International Labour Organization, World Economic Forum, United Nations Institute for Training and Research, UN Women, UNICEF, UNESCO, and the International Organization of Employers. This diverse gathering reflects a shared commitment to fostering an equitable labor environment through digital transformation.
