After all of those on-site procedures were done, Ye's team was flown back to Beijing to undergo a six-month quarantine and recuperation program, which is a standard procedure for Chinese astronauts returning from space.
The Shenzhou XVIII team brought back a total of 55 sets of experimental samples, which have a combined weight of 34.6 kilograms and relate to 28 experimental projects ranging from life sciences to microgravity combustion research.
Those samples have been transported to Beijing on Monday and will be delivered to scientists after initial checks, according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
