A photography exhibition, No 21, Fengjing Street by artist Teng Xiaohong, opened on Saturday in Beijing, presenting 91 pieces shot on film, digital, and mobile formats. The works span over a decade of Teng's creative journey, beginning in 2013.

The title, No 21, Fengjing Street, refers to Teng's childhood home on Taiyang Island in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, where she lived until she was 18. Her parents worked at a local sanatorium on the island, which is known for its Russian-style architecture — wooden houses with slanted roofs and intricately designed windows that fostered her early love for architecture and space.

This is Teng's first solo photography exhibition, showcasing a curated selection of 91 works from over 10,000 images taken throughout her career. The exhibition runs through Dec 4.

A highlight of the exhibition is the series Tales of Time, a poignant collection documenting her visits to Harbin over the past decade.

"Leaving Harbin, I hadn't realized how deeply I was connected to my hometown. After seeing so many places, I began to recognize its uniqueness, especially the Songhua River. Each return brings a fresh wave of nostalgia," Teng remarked.
