Museum at 4300-year-old Taosi relics site opens in Shanxi

The Taosi Relics Site Museum officially opened in Xiangfen county, Linfen city, Shanxi province on Nov 12. The exhibition hall covers an area of approximately 5000 square meters and displays 230 pieces of cultural relics such as pottery and jade, showcasing the archaeological excavations and research results of the Taosi culture from 4300 to 3900 years ago in a complete and comprehensive manner.
As an important site in the "Exploration of Chinese Civilization's Origins" project, the Taosi site was discovered in 1958 and officially excavated in 1978. Over 5500 artifacts have been unearthed, revealing the early forms of Chinese civilization. It serves as a key point in the empirical history of Chinese civilization over five thousand years.
