Ye Cong leads young musicians of national orchestra at concert
A concert, featuring conductor Ye Cong and young musicians of a Chinese national orchestra of the Central Conservatory of Music, was held at the opera house of the conservatory in Beijing on Sunday.
Over the past decade, Ye has collaborated multiple times with the Central Conservatory of Music's department of traditional music, exploring the development of contemporary Chinese music and witnessing the growth of both teachers and students.
In 2015, Ye first conducted the faculty and students of the department of traditional music during the inaugural China National Music Festival at the conservatory. In 2018, he worked with seven professors from the plucked strings department, opening a concert at the conservatory's Plucked String Music Festival. This time, Ye returned with a selection of seven contemporary pieces performed by the current faculty and students of the department, showcasing the generations of tradition in Chinese music.
