Thresholds, Flaneur and Whirlpools, an ongoing exhibition at the Wind H Art Center in Beijing, examines the complicated relationship between humanity, society, and nature through individual perspectives, and by drawing on the history and particular situation of specific regions.

Using animal, mythological and sea motifs in their work, the paintings, sculptures, installations and videos by the 11 artists are a world of diversity and strength.

As the breadth of their vision and depth of their research into the evolution of society unfolds, the intimate link between humanity and nature is illuminated, showing that despite their seeming role in defining and dominating, humans face crises of existence and environmental challenges as the result of their uncontrolled expansion.

Curated by Zhang Yufei, deputy director of Wind H Art Center, the exhibition runs until March 30.
