Jiangsu showcases heritage to UK

Mei Sim Lai, representative deputy lieutenant for the London Borough of Brent, reflected on her fond memories of traveling across Jiangsu and emphasized the importance of fostering cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between China and the UK.
"I have seen and I do believe that Jiangsu is a wonderful place in China to visit," she said.
With Chinese New Year, which falls on Jan 29 this year, just around the corner, speakers extended wishes for happiness and prosperity in the Year of the Snake and expressed hope that the festival - now a widely celebrated global occasion - would serve as a window for more people to learn about Jiangsu and China.
Spring Festival has officially been inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in December.
