Dual Persona, a poignant film about a redemption journey, began shooting in Yulin in Northwest China's Shaanxi province on Wednesday.
Featuring veteran actors Li Yixiang, Fan Lei and Zhang Lei, the film explores the intricate dynamics of a father-son relationship while unveiling the struggles of marginalized communities in contemporary Chinese society.
With Lu Wei, a noted scriptwriter known for award-winning films like Farewell My Concubine — winner of the Palme d'Or at the 46th Cannes Film Festival in 1993 — serving as the executive producer, the film is directed by young talent Gao Xiaowei, excelling at portraying complicated human relations in reality-themed movies like A Cotton Padded Jacket and An Oasis.
