Gao described Yulin as a city of "poetry, dreams and warmth".
"Its land carries the roughness of history and the fervor of its people, perfectly aligning with the film's theme of finding light in the darkest of times," he added.
The film is slated for release during the Spring Festival holiday in 2026.
