A delegation from Northeast China's Jilin province held a cultural and tourism promotion and exchange event with the theme the "Colorful Four Seasons, Wonderful Jilin" in Budapest, Hungary on Monday, introducing Jilin's cultural and tourism resources to the Hungarian people and bridging mutual learning between the two regions.

Cao Lubao, head of the delegation, member of the Standing Committee of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and director of the Publicity Department; Han Dongsheng, counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary; and officials from the Hungarian National Tourist Office, attended the event.

During the meeting, Jilin promoted its rich cultural heritage, stunning ecology, and business opportunities for cooperation between the two regions. Attendees enjoyed performances such as nongyue dance, a traditional dance of the Korean ethnic group, and guqin (a seven-stringed zither) and dance performances. They also gained an understanding of the abundant and diverse attractions of Jilin through a promotional video.

At the promotion event, the Jilin Northeast Asia Publishing and Media Group and the Kocsis Kiado publishing house of Hungary signed a memorandum of cooperation to enhance collaboration in cultural, tourism, technology, ecology, and academic fields. The aim is to sustainably publish influential works and inject new vitality into the publishing industry of both sides and foster bilateral cultural exchanges between China and Hungary.

The scope of cooperation between the two parties will cover basic sciences, humanities and social sciences, and other agreed-upon disciplines. Additionally, the two sides are willing to regularly communicate about cooperative projects and, conditions permitting, will organize high-level visits and conduct exchanges.
