From lab to life: humanoid robots' 'coming-of-age' year

In 2025, humanoid robots were mass produced for the first time. Once the stuff of science fiction, these "steel companions" have now stepped out of labs and into real life.

Generations of researchers have turned their intellectual visions into reality, adding a human touch to the technology. On stage, robots that stumble stand back up autonomously to applause: a showcase of technical prowess, and a reflection of humanity's hopes for intelligent life.
