Sun hopes to break the potential cognitive barriers associated with contemporary sculpture and let audiences experience the strong resonance generated by the interplay of material, form, and concept. Additionally, the exhibition seeks to stage a dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity.
Jointly hosted by China Artists' Association, China Sculpture Institute, Shanghai Art Museum, Shanghai Artists' Association, the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, and Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, the exhibition is one of the events in commemoration of the 70th birthday of Shanghai Art Museum, according to Wang Yichuan, executive director of Shanghai Art Museum.
