Warmer winters leave Pakistan's tournament on thin ice

It is not just the players who are feeling the strain.

Unpredictable winters ripple through cafes, guesthouses and transport operators. Smaller guesthouses without heating struggle as pipes freeze, cutting off water, then thaw and refreeze unpredictably, raising the risk of bursts and costly repairs.

Globally, fewer regions can reliably host winter sports as temperatures rise.
