Jiushi Art Museum opens debut exhibit at new Shanghai home

Jiushi Art Museum opened its first exhibition, Before the Earth Falls Down, at its new address in Shanghai's McBain Building on Wednesday. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

The museum is part of a broader cultural network that includes the Bund 18 Jiushi Art Gallery and the Jiushi Art Salon at 230 Beijing Road East.

"We aim to promote diversified artistic integration and activation of these heritage buildings, enriching public experiences in this iconic Shanghai district," Tang added.

Running through June 28, Before the Earth Falls Down is curated by Jiang Jiehong. It features nine contemporary artists from China and abroad, whose works — spanning installations, paintings, video and sound — interrogate the rapid loss of biodiversity and the pressing realities of global environmental crises.
