Over a career spanning more than six decades, veteran painter Wang Xijing has produced an extensive body of ink works that bridge past and present, blending tradition and contemporary aesthetics. His brushwork upholds the spirit of innovation central to the Chang'an School, an artists' group and style of classical Chinese painting that emerged in the 20th century.

In celebration of Wang's 80th birthday, a collection of his works was recently published in Beijing. The albums, overseen by Fan Di'an, chairman of the China Artists Association, catalog Wang's most important and representative works across different periods, chronicling a diverse evolution in style. His work taps into weighty historical themes, reflects modern sensibilities, and also captures scenes from abroad.

Wang has also worked with Artron Art Group to launch an "Art Documentation Digital System" — a high-resolution, panoramic digital platform providing access to his paintings, theoretical articles, manuscripts, correspondence, audiovisual materials, and exhibition records.
