Yang said researchers would continue monitoring the breeding season as wreathed hornbill chicks remain in the nest-rearing stage.

Known as the "Chinese Hornbill Valley", the Hongbeng River area in Yingjiang is home to China's most concentrated and stable breeding population of hornbills. Local authorities said its well-preserved tropical rainforest ecosystem and dense biodiversity provide an ideal habitat for the birds to nest and reproduce.
