In China the discount is advertised in loud and shrill announcements, written and said out aloud on megaphones.
In Yangshuo's West Street you can find beautifully-crafted chopsticks in a dedicated chopstick shop. There is no pricer rebate advertised but Chinese customers enquiring about them will be offered a 15 percent reduction while laowai visitors are brushed off rudely with the claim there is no discount available. In isolated cases a 5 percent discount was grudgingly granted.
