Corruption crackdown

China will begin the second phase of implementing guidelines from the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, sources with the Central Committee for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said last week.

Further international co-operation and legislation are the main priorities at this stage, said Wu Guanzheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. In his speech, Wu also urged government departments to work more closely with other countries in the fight against corruption.
