Chinese shares close mixed on Tuesday

Chinese equities closed mixed on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.30 percent for the fourth consecutive trading day to close at 3,246.87 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index shed 0.08 percent, or 10.85 points, to close at 13,350.67 points.

Combined turnover totaled 270.91 billion yuan ($39.66 billion), slightly down from 278.28 billion yuan on the previous trading day.

Losers outnumbered gainers by 479 to 387 in Shanghai and 531 to 293 in Shenzhen.
