HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks rose 28.43 points, or 0.14 percent, to close at 20,272.18 Tuesday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index opened 0.93 percent higher at 20, 432.96 Tuesday. It traded between 20,181.28 and 20,533.96 during the day's session.
Turnover totaled HK$62.44 billion ($8.05 billion ), compared with Monday's HK$67.13 billion.
The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index fell 51.29 points, or 0.44 percent, to close at 11,570.35.
The four sub-indices closed mixed. Both the properties and the commerce and industry rose, gaining 0.76 percent and 0.65 percent respectively. The utilities edged down 0.17 percent and the finance fell 0.31 percent.
Market heavyweight HSBC edged up 0.83 percent, to close at HK$84. 55 and its local unit Hang Seng Bank closed up 0.27 percent at HK$109.6. China Mobile rose 0.94 percent to HK$75. 45.

As for local developers, Cheung Kong, the flagship of Hong Kong's richest man Li Ka-shing, rose 0.64 percent, at HK$94.35. SHK Properties, the leading residential housing developer in Hong Kong, ended 0.79 percent higher at HK$102.3. Henderson Land added 0.79 to HK$50.9.
PetroChina increased 0.91 percent to HK$8.84, offshore oil producer CNOOC gained 1.08 percent to HK$11.26. Sinopec went up 0.98 percent to HK$6.19.
Li & Fung lost 1.12 percent to HK$35.35. China Life lost 1.44 percent to HK$34.3.
