China's energy conservation and environmental protection industries may contribute 5.3 trillion yuan ($776 billion), or 10 percent, to gross domestic product by 2015, China Business News reported, citing a trade body official.
Output from these industries may grow 20 percent every year between 2011 and 2015, the newspaper said, citing Luo Jianhua, secretary at the China Environment Service Industry Association. The two sectors contributed 4.9 percent to GDP in 2008, according to China Business News.
