Sparkle Roll Group Ltd, a Hong Kong-listed luxury products distributor, said on July 9 that it will hold a luxury brands event from Sep 6 to 9 in Beijing.
About 80 brands are expected to attend the maiden event, which will then be held annually.
The company hopes to boost profits with the project. Zheng Haojiang, CEO of Sparkle Roll, said the company expects the event to contribute 10 to 30 million yuan ($4.7 million) to its annual profits starting next year.
The income will be mainly from exhibitors'entrance fees as China's booming luxury market lures luxury brands.
"Usually in luxury shows, exhibitors outnumber visitors," said Zhou Ting, executive director of the research center for luxury goods and services of the University of International Business and Economics.
Zhou said the luxury industry is waiting for more consumers to visit the events, but that first it needs to attract high-end luxury brands.
