Chinese shares close mixed - April 17

BEIJING - Chinese shares closed mixed on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.05 percent, or 1.05 points, to end at 2,193.8.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.47 percent, or 41.95 points, to 8,894.37.
