Huashan Scenic Area, a well-known tourism destination with breathtaking mountains has planned a large number of tourism projects totaling 65 billion yuan ($10.7 billion) in investment for development.
At a tourism promotional event held in Hong Kong on Tuesday, Huo Wenjun, director of the Huashan Scenic Area management committee, said the Huashan development plan aims to enhance the mountain's scenic tourist facilities, complete with great tourism elements in order to build an integrated service system consisting of sightseeing and recreation.
Located in the eastern part of Shaanxi province in Northwest China and at the heart of the golden triangle of Shaanxi, Shanxi and Henan provinces, Huashan is one of China's five famous mountains and was listed among the first national key scenic areas by the State Council in 1982.
Every year, the mountain receives large numbers of visitors from all over the world and by the end of October this year, some 1.78 million people had visited Huashan with tourism revenue reaching more than 87.8 million yuan, Huo said.
