Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Wednesday that Chinese companies can take a more prominent role in infrastructure projects in Romania.
His comments to the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate at the Romanian Parliament Palace came amid discussions on how plans for projects such as high-speed railways and power plants should be financed. Applause stopped his speech about 20 times.
Li's speech followed his meeting at the palace with Romanian Senate President Crin Antonescu and Chamber of Deputies President Valeriu Zgonea.
