China's delegation, headed by Vice-Premier Wang Yang, has arrived in Washington DC, for the fifth round of Sino-US talks.
Both sides have high expectations for the China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue. Ahead of talks beginning today, the Vice-Premier Wang Yang penned an article, published in the Wall Street Journal, describing the meeting as an opportunity to strengthen US-China Ties. He described the talks as an important step forward, towards building a new model for an economic relationship.
Meanwhile, State Counsellor Yang Jiechi writes in the Washington Post that China and the US can forge a more co-operative relationship, despite differences and frictions.
