Zhu Jianhong started his own business in 1983. After getting rich, Zhu devoted much of his wealth to help those in need. He offered money to patients with serious illnesses, to children who couldn't afford school and to poor families. He raised two orphans, helped more than 70 laid-off workers and raised money for Project Hope several times.
But in the end of 2000, he met with a crisis; his business went bankrupt and he found himself heavily in debt. Nine years after that, he paid off his debt, moved to the countryside alone and started living a simple life. But he still does all he can to help those in trouble.
