The combined value of Chinese corporate brands rose significantly last year, with the brand values of private enterprises more than doubling, according to a recent survey.
Market-driven brands account for 47 percent of the total value of the BrandZ China Top 100, a list compiled by global communications group WPP and brand agency Millward Brown, up from 29 percent a year ago.
"However, SOEs continue to remain significant contributors to the overall ranking and still play a key role in China's broader economy," said Doreen Wang, global head of BrandZ, Millward Brown, adding that competition is on rise from the private sector in China.
"Consumers worldwide have been increasingly accepting Chinese brands, because they see them as meaningful and dynamic and not just because they are well-known," Wang continued.
Both Tencent and Alibaba leapfrogged long-time leader China Mobile, which had been number one since the ranking was launched in 2011.
Now let's take a look at the full list of the top 10 Chinese brands of 2015.
