China imported $2.11 billion worth of agricultural products from Vietnam between January and September, up 23.1 percent year-on-year, according to the country's General Administration of Customs.
Meanwhile, China shipped $2.39 billion worth of agricultural products to Vietnam, an increase of 15.3 percent from the same period last year.
China and Vietnam signed a cooperative memorandum for agricultural products in 2013 and bilateral trade in the category has seen rapid growth.
Vietnam is China's sixth largest market for agricultural product export and the 10th biggest import source.
