Last year, the world witnessed a record-breaking number of overseas tourists. A total of 1.184 billion tourists traveled worldwide, a rise of 4.4 percent from a year earlier, according to the latest World Tourism Barometer released by the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
"The robust performance of the sector is contributing to economic growth and job creation in many parts of the world," said UNWTO Secretary-General Taleb Rifai in a statement.
