1. Pensions

China should proceed with reforms on the pension insurance system and step up efforts on further reform, according to the conference.
China raised the basic pension for enterprise retirees by about 6.5 percent this year, benefiting more than 100 million people, according to the sate-run Xinhua News Agency. Nine provinces adjusted the minimum wage threshold and seven provinces raised the threshold for unemployment insurance. As of end-September, the number of people with social security cards reached 939 million.
