According to the conference, there will be progress on connecting the infrastructure between third and fourth-tier cities and super-large cities, improving public services including education and medical services of the third and fourth-tier cities, and increasing their appeal to people transferred from the agricultural sector.
China has raised the annual grant for each resident under the new rural cooperative medical insurance and the basic medical insurance for urban residents further by 40 yuan. The number of cities piloting the public hospital reforms has expanded from 100 to 200.
