BEIJING - Chinese shares closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down by 16.72 points, or 0.82 percent, to finish at 2,027.62.
The Shenzhen Component Index shed 55.41 points, or 0.71 percent, to close at 7,746.74.
