Lenovo will complete its IBM x86 server acquisition by year's end as planned, company CEO Yang Yuanqing said in Nanjing on Friday.
His comment came amid reports claiming the buyout by the Chinese company may be put off due to United States regulators'security worries.
The $2.3-billion deal, still awaiting government approval in the US, is in limbo because security officials and members of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States worry that IBM's x86 servers used by the Pentagon could be accessed remotely by someone else, according to the Wall Street Journal.
