However, James Yan, research director at Counterpoint Technology Market Research, said the application of VR in e-commerce would need more time to take off compared with VR games or other VR-driven entertainment products.

"As fascinating as it may sound, it would be difficult to make people form the habit of using VR technology to shop. After all, they will need to buy a full package of VR gear to shop at home and not everyone feels comfortable wearing them to pick up clothes and other products," he said.
