HONG KONG - Hong Kong's total goods exports grew 18.5 percent and goods imports surged 37.1 percent in January, compared with the previous year, the authority said on Thursday.
According to the Hong Kong Census & Statistics Department, January saw the volume of goods re-exports rise 18.1 percent while that of domestic exports grow 35.4 percent.

In January, the price of goods re-exports went up 2.3 percent year to year while those of domestic exports rose 1.7 percent. Taken together, the price of total goods exports rose 2.2 percent. The price of goods imports grew 2.6 percent.
The terms of trade index fell 0.3 percent in January over the same period in 2009.
