Microblog insights

Topic 1: Economic slowdown put an end to ever-rising prices in the Asian property market that went on for several years. The consumer price index declined sharply to 4.2 percent in November in the Chinese mainland, the year's lowest, from a 37-month high of 6.5 percent in July. Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and Singapore have all experienced a decline. What are bloggers saying about the trend next year?

DECKARDD: I think it may keep stable or drop a little bit next year and then it will go up again, but not significantly.

CHENLIXUNTED: The current discount in the market is 20 percent off? I intend to purchase real estate at the end of next year, not this year, whatever favorable prices property developers offer.

RONGLU: I think the decline rate would be rather small, probably 20 percent, maybe a little more.

Topic 2: Beijing municipal government released a policy on Dec 16 that all users of micro blogs have to complete real-name registration in three months. Only those who have registered with real names are allowed to post information on their micro blogs, but they can freely choose Internet nicknames. This is the most strict government measure in regulating micro blog platforms to date. However, it's still unknown whether this policy applies to Beijing users or micro blog services operated in Beijing.

XIAOYUNANJING: Those who spread rumors have to be careful then.

LIULANGJIDANKE: Does this policy apply to all people nationwide or not? I'm not a Beijing resident.

DENISE_ANGELENE: My friends all said that it's no big deal, because we could go to Twitter or Facebook.
