BEIJING - Yang Yuanqing, chairman and CEO of world's largest PC maker Lenovo, Sunday urged China's top legislature to draft law on personal information protection in the mobile Internet era.

The mobile Internet has promoted economic development and technology innovation but also brings new challenges, such as infringement on personal information safety, Yang said at the ongoing annual session of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Absence of legislation, safety loopholes, weak legal sense and lack of social integrity are major challenges for personal information safety, said Yang, also a member of the top advisory body.

Yang called for introducing a personal information protection law as soon as possible, strengthening the industry supervision and creating a social environment featuring integrity.
