The image of a steel worker was printed on the 5-yuan note in the third series of Chinese currency. Due to the modernized production, however, these jobs have been largely replaced by machines that are operated and supervised by computers. People can now only see real steel workers in front of high-temperature furnaces in some old-fashioned steel factories.
