Document on linking China's railway to Iran signed in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE - The document on a regional railway designed to link China with Iran via Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan, was signed, Tajikistan's Ministry of Transport said on Wednesday.

The railways connection project, agreed upon by representatives of transport ministries and railway departments from the five countries, is expected to start from China's Kashgar to Afghanistan's Herat, then go through Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and finally be connected with the Iranian railway.

During the meeting, the participants discussed technical issues related to the project and agreed to hold further meetings on the project.
