China Duty Free Group Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China International Travel Service Group Co Ltd, opened its second foreign duty-free shop on Dec 30.

Located in Cambodia's Sihanoukville, the duty free shop is to further expand its businesses overseas, after positive business performance from opening its first foreign duty-free shop in Cambodia's Angkor last year.

Covering 450 square meters, the shop will offer an array of cosmetics, perfume, watches, tobacco, wine and local specialties, among other products.

According to China Duty Free Group, the location of the group's foreign duty-free shop is in accordance with the popularity of the destination among Chinese tourists in recent years.

China has surpassed South Korea to become the second tourist source country for Cambodia this year, it said.

"Sihanoukville is becoming a "rising destination" whose beaches attract Chinese leisure tourists, and increasing numbers of carriers are offering scheduled service to the coastal Cambodian city," said Cheng Jin, assistant to the marketing director of the group.

It is believed the duty free shop will attract more Chinese tourists to the destination, she said.

According to Cheng, the group is to open its third overseas duty free shop in Cambodia's Phnom Penh in August of 2016, to cover the three major cities and destinations of Cambodia.
