BEIJING -- China had 7.85 million small and micro-sized enterprises as of the end of 2013 in the industrial and tertiary sectors, accounting for 95.6 percent of the total, official data showed on Tuesday.
Employees at small businesses took up 50.4 percent of the total, according to results of a latest national economic census published by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
Such firms owned 29.6 percent of Chinese companies' total assets, said the NBS.
