BEIJING - China's heavy truck sales surged 45 percent year on year to 495,00 units in August, the traditional slack season for the market, industry data showed on Sunday.
The rate was the highest monthly growth this year, according to industry service provider cvworld.cn.
Changchun-based FAW Group led the market, selling 9,600 units last month, up 67 percent from the same period last year.
Cvworld.cn attributed the growth to a low comparison base last year, together with increasing upgrading demands in the logistics market.
"The data showed the industry remains on a recovery track," the service provider noted.
