Italian luxury sports car Automobili Lamborghini saw its sales hit a record 3,457 units, marking 7 percent growth year-on-year, and about 2.6 times the figure recorded in 2010.

Thanks to the automaker's Huracán model, 2016 was the most successful year for sales of its V10 cars, with 2,353 Huracán Coupé and Spyder cars sold. The sales of its 12-cylinder model Aventador increased from 1,003 units in 2015 to 1,104 units in 2016. The USA remains the company's largest single market, where 1,041 units were sold, followed by Japan, the UK, Germany, Canada, the Middle East and China. With 135 dealers covering 50 countries, Lamborghini said its global sales figures have now grown for six consecutive years.
