EVOC, a leading specialist computer manufacturer in China, sees rosy future in the country's domestic market with cyber security issue becoming a top government priority.

Chen Zhilie, chairman of the board of the Shenzhen-based firm, said China's domestic market is warming up to local industrial computer makers since President Xi Jinping personally took charge of the new government body overseeing the country's cyber security in late February.

Chen said at the sideline of the annual political advisory session that his company, which produces both industrial and military use computers, has seen an increase in the number of orders. However, he refused to reveal the exact figure.

Chen said his Hong Kong-listed company is the third-largest player in this sector in the world. "However, most of the computers used in Chinese government, military and in key utility companies, such as the State Grid, are made in the United States," he said.

According to him, local specialized computer manufacturers in China account for just 15 percent of the country's market.

"On the other hand, the other world leaders in this field occupy more than 95 percent of their home markets," he said, adding that the sales of Chinese players are projected to boost rapidly in the coming years.
