Promoting brands

The "Brand Promotion" tour initiated by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) kicked off in Beijing over the weekend. The tour, visiting 51 cities in the nation, is expected to give a boost to China's home-grown brands.

Presently, they account for less than 10 per cent of China's total exports and the average life length of domestic brands is less than two years, according to MOFCOM statistics. The tour will last for 40 days.
