Woman sues over denied restroom breaks
(China Daily)
Updated: 2006-09-08 08:37 A Foshan woman surnamed Li filed a lawsuit against a local bus company because she was not allowed to go to the toilet for more than 40 minutes on a highway. Li, 40, who boarded a coach from Shenzhen to Guangzhou, said she asked the driver to stop the coach for convenience three times as it was passing highway filling stations, but the driver refused, saying his company allowed no drivers to stop while the coaches were operating on highways to ensure safety. Li, who felt uncomfortable when the coach arrived in Guangzhou terminal, asked the coach driver and his company to apologize and pay compensation. A local court has accepted the case and is arranging a public hearing. Southern Metropolis News |
