Students subjected to mass hair cutting
(China Daily)
Updated: 2006-10-31 08:59 Over 200 middle school students in Suzhou of Jiangsu Province were forced to have their hair cut recently when the school decided their hair, either too long or too trendy, didn't match their neat student roles. The school suddenly invited two haircutters to the campus a few days ago and asked them to cut the hair of more than 200 male students to less than 1 centimetres. A school regulation stipulates that male students should not have long hair while female students should not have their hair permed. However, students strongly objected to the school's action, decrying it as a violation of their freedom. Jiangnan Times |
