OPEC chief denies China behind oil price hike

RIYADH -- OPEC Secretary General Abdallah al- Badri denied on Wednesday claims that China and India stood behind the rise in the international oil prices.

In an exclusive statement to Xinhua, al-Badri rejected the allegations which hold China and India responsible for the soaring oil prices, adding that the consumption of the two countries is normal and just in line with their demands.

The chief of the oil cartel made the remarks during the preparatory meetings for the 3rd OPEC summit in Riyadh.
