Vice-president Xi Jinping to visit Hong Kong

HONG KONG -- Under the invitation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping will visit Hong Kong on July 6-8 to see Hong Kong's progress in organizing the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events and the city's latest development, announced the HKSAR government here on Friday.

Hong Kong's Chief Executive Donald Tsang said that Hong Kong is greatly honored to welcome the Vice-President, and looks forward to his guidance on the equestrian events' preparatory work.

During his stay, Xi will inspect the Equestrian Competition Events venues and receive reports from relevant parties.
